219.         $250

New Haven Clock Co. “Regulator, C.C.”, ca. 1886. A 40-inch walnut case with an old finish with good patina; I think the top and bottom finials may be replacements, but they accurately match the finials shown in the catalog illustration (Ly,New Haven Clocks & Watches, page 153).  The door glass is period and clearly a New Haven glass, with some lifting and minor losses to the colored tablet.  The dial holds old/original paint in good condition, with proper hands.  The 8-day, time-only movement is stamped with the New Haven logo; it is running nicely.  No maker’s label, but a jeweler’s label inside.  This is a rare and attractive clock; AAC sold this clock a year ago for $337.  $250–$400.
