218. $250
American Clock Co. “Regulator No. 30”, ca. 1874. This model is most
often seen marketed by Kroeber, with a Kroeber movement. Seth Thomas put a ST movement in the same case and the ACC sold it
from their New York store. This example contains a Seth Thomas movement and a dark, partial label on the back that I interpret
as an American Clock Co. label. The 37-inch walnut case has a clean finish and burl veneer on the base. The glass is original,
with the original putty. The dial is toned paper, the hands period. The signed Seth Thomas 8-day, time-and-strike movement
is running and striking on a nickel bell, with a single barrel pendulum, as shown in the Seth Thomas catalog illustration (Ly, Seth
Thomas Clocks & Movements, Vol. 1, page 306). A classic beauty. $250–$400.
