E.N. Welch Mfg. Co. “Eclipse Regulator” calendar, ca. 1889. This
model appears to have been available only as a simple calendar model; the 38-inch walnut case has a thick, old finish with multiple
overcoats and waxings. The door glass is period but the “Eclipse Regulator” in gold lettering was probably added when the
glass was replaced. The old paper dial shows wear and discoloration, the hands are appropriate, the calendar hand is original. The
8-day, time and date movement is signed; it will run for a while but stops and needs to be cleaned. The calendar is advancing;
the pendulum stick and bob look original, and there is a worn label on the back. AAC sold one last summer for $250. $200–$300.
