E.N. Welch Mfg. Co. “Eclipse Regulator” calendar,ca. 1889. This model appears to have been available only as a simple calendar model; the 38-inch walnut case has a clean, older
finish and no missing parts. The door glass is original, with “Eclipse Regulator” in gold lettering with some wear. The
putty around the glass was replaced long ago. The metal dial was repainted by hand and is a bit sloppy; the hands are replacements,
the calendar hand is period/original. The 8-day, time and date movement is signed and running without difficulty, the pendulum
stick has been repaired, the bob is old. The calendar is advancing. There is a worn label on the back. This is not
an uncommon model, with a recent sale at Schmidt’s Antiques for $275. $250–$350.
