French wooden shelf clock, ca. 1900. A 15.5-inch mahogany
case with simple fretwork on top and at the bottom. The front of the case is elaborately carved but there is a horizontal break
at the bottom of the dial. The dial glass is beveled and flat, the two-part dial is porcelain with a gilt center ring and substitute
hands. The retailer’s name, J Faiers, is shown above the mainstem. The movement is not signed or marked; it is running
but not striking. The backboard is lost. $25–$100.
