Japy Freres et Cie, red marble mantel clock, ca. 1860. The marble case is 9 inches tall and 11.5 inches wide, with no chips or cracks and gold trim along the base and gilded girls figure heads and emblems on each side; one ornament on the right side has been lost.  The dial sits behind a beveled flat glass and is also marble, with brass hands and numerals.  The 8-day pendule de Paris movement is stamped with maker’s mark and an award date of 1855; it is running and striking delicately on the nickel bell.  This clock weighs 30 lb.  $50–$200.
