Ansonia Clock Co. “La Rochelle”, ca. 1895.  This is an early Royal Bonn clock from Ansonia with a smaller round movement and a one-piece porcelain dial.  The 16-inch-tall case has peach-colored borders and pink and purple flowers on a light green background.  The coloring is very subtle.  There is only modest wear to the gilding and no evident chips, cracks, or repairs.  The glass is flat and beveled, the decorated porcelain dial bears the Ansonia logo and signature at the bottom, and proper hands.  The 8-day time and half-hour strike movement is signed and running, striking on a standing cathedral gong.  I’ve not seen this model before and there are no sales on LiveAuctioneers, with two on the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide.  It is shown on page 615 of Ly’s book on Ansonia clocks. A rare early model.  $250–$500.
