226.            $250

Ansonia Clock Co. “La Layon”, ca. 1904.  A beautiful 14.5-inch porcelain case in New Art Ruby with modest loss of gilding.  There are hand-painted roses on the front below the dial and on top, and a beveled flat glass in the sash.  The two-part porcelain dial is signed, and the Ansonia logo is in the center ring; there are some hairlines in the outer dial.  The visible escapement has steel pallets.  The signed 8-day, time and half-hour strike movement is running and striking on a cathedral gong.  A very nice example.  $250–$400.
