225. $250
Ansonia Clock Co. “La Meuse”, ca. 1914. An uncommon
model, 14.5 inches tall in pale lavender with a pastoral Dutch scene on the front, common to all examples but with differing background
coloring. No chips, cracks, or repairs that I can see, with light wear to the gilding. Note the shell motif on the top
and sides. There is a beveled glass in the sash in front of a porcelain dial with two hairline cracks, proper hands, and a visible
escapement with steel pallets. It is running and striking on a cathedral gong with an 8-day Ansonia movement. Four sales
on LiveAuctioneers, most recently at Cottone’s for $350. $250–$400.
