189.           $400

Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Regulator No. 2”, ca. 1890.  A 36-inch mahogany case with an old but reasonably clean finish; the veneer on the dial bezel looks good.  Both glasses are modern replacements. The metal dial is flaking paint but clean, with the Seth Thomas name on it, and may date from the 1920’s.  The hands are correct for this model, except for the seconds bit.  The 8-day, time-only No. 77A movement is stamped with the ST logo and is running easily; the pendulum stick and bob are likely original, with tarnish to the bob and to the No. 2 weight as well.  No label. The average price for a mahogany No. 2 (nine AAC sales) is $520.  $400–$600.
