175.          $500

Waltham Clock Co. wall regulator, ca. 1905.  A 37-inch weight-driven wall clock in a mahogany case with an old, clean finish.  I can’t find this model in Ly’s listing of Waltham clocks (American Clocks, Vol. 1 or 2) or on LiveAuctioneers or the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide.  The door glass is period/original, the painted metal dial bears the name of George A Barron, Boston, an optometrist in Boston at that time.  The dial is lightly soiled with just a couple of paint flakes missing.  The hands are likely original.   The 8-day, time-only movement is die-stamped Waltham Clock Co; it will run briefly and needs to be cleaned.  It is driven by a large cast iron weight behind the weight shield; the pendulum stick and bob look original.  There is a beat scale at the bottom but no label, front or back. Waltham made a number of wall regulators like this.  $500–$1000.
