171.           $1200

Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Regulator No. 3”, ca. 1900.  A second example of this model, this one with nickeled trim including the damascened pendulum bob, weight, and weight pulley. The 42-inch case is veneered in burled walnut and it all looks original, with some chips and losses around the bezel. Note that black and gold trim around the lower door; both glasses are period/original.  The four drop finials are present and correct.  The 14-inch painted dial is clean with dark numbering but some less-than-perfect touchup to cover chips on the left side.  The hands are standard for this model.  The 8-day trapezoidal time-only movement bears the ST logo and is running reluctantly and will need attention.  The pendulum stick and bob are likely original, and the ST nickel weight has knurled end caps.  There is a partial black label inside on the bottom.  $1200–$1800.
