170.         $1200

Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Regulator No. 3”, ca. 1900.  A 42-inch case with the original rosewood veneer in age-appropriate condition – the veneer around the lower door is rough, and the inner dial bezel is not veneered, and the knob on the lower door is incorrect.  The beaded trim around the lower glass has been repainted; both glasses are period, possibly original.  The four drop finials also look original.  The 14-inch painted dial is also rough, with wear, touch-ups, and numeral strengthening.  The hands are standard for this model.  The 8-day trapezoidal time-only movement is unsigned but commonly found in this model; it is running without issue.  The pendulum stick may be a replacement, as may be the bob; the ST brass weight with knurled end caps is proper for this model.  There is a black label inside on the bottom.  The average sale price for a No. 3 on AAC over the last five years is $1441 (four sales).   $1200–$1500.
