157.         $500

Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Office Calendar No. 13”, ca. 1890.  A 50-inch oak case with a newer finish; I believe that the case is late twentieth century, and the door glass is modern.  Both dials have been repainted, the hands are correct.  The 8-day, time-only, weight-driven movement is unsigned; it is running, with a square cast iron weight that runs down the right side and a proper pendulum stick with a damascened brass bob.  The calendars are advancing properly.  There are half-a-dozen examples on LiveAuctioneers, with the most recent sale at Schmitt Horan in 2024 for $850.

Steve Petrucelli tells me this is a Chinese import.
