Ansonia Clock Co. “Sorrento” enameled iron case, ca. 1914. A 10.5-inch-tall by 16-inch-wide cast-iron case with brass trim pieces on the front and sides, and brass feet.  The paint is dull and there is some peeling on the top of the case, and much of the gilding on the front incising has been worn off.  The simple brass bezel is tarnished; it holds a convex glass over a bronze repoussé dial and proper hands.  The 8-day, time and half-hour strike movement is running and striking on a cathedral gong.  No label.  $50–$150.
