New Haven Clock Co. “Qui Vive”, ca. 1890.  Not an exact match to the catalog illustration and description, but very close (Ly, New Haven Clocks & Watches, page 260).  The marble case is 12.75 inches wide and 10 inches tall, with green marble insets flanking the dial and gilded incisings.  The flat dial glass is beveled, the porcelain dial has several noticeable chips, the hands are proper.  There is a visible escapement with steel pallets.  The movement may be a 15-day time-and-strike movement, based on the catalog description; it bears the New Haven star logo (not evident in photo).  It is running and striking on a cathedral gong.  No label.  $100–$200.
