Ansonia Clock Co. “Verona”, ca. 1886.  A large (21-inch wide) cast iron case that has been refinished, with gold trim incisings and repainted trim and feet.  The dial glass is beveled, the outer dial replaced with a non-porcelain ring, the center ring with the Ansonia name.  The hands are proper, the visible escapement has steel pallets.  The 8-day, time and half-hour strike movement is signed and running, striking on a cathedral gong. The pendulum bob is a replacement.  No label, but it is shown in Ly, Ansonia Clocks & Watches on page 286.  One sale record, at Tom Harris Auctions in 2021 for $140.  $100–$200.
