E. Ingraham & Co. “Octagon Doric Mosaic”, ca. 1874. A 16-inch refinished rosewood case with “candy stripe” trim around the front; there are some missing pieces, but they are not noticeable. The door frame has been incompletely stripped and is not stained or varnished.  Both glasses appear to be original, with old putty, and the lower glass has lost most of the backing paint; that can be easily rectified.  The gilding on the rose is still good.  The dial is a paper replacement, the hands are proper.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed and running, striking on a wire gong.  A very dark but readable label inside.  Two candy stripe clocks side by side, usually it’s hard to find even one!  $100–$200.
