108. $100
E. Ingraham & Co. “Venetian No. 3 Mosaic Front”, ca.
1875. An uncommon model with a striking appearance; the case is 15.5 inches tall with a clean finish over rosewood veneer on
the sides and base. The “candy stripe” trim around the front is alternating bands of light and dark (mahogany) wood, and with
the curve around the top, no doubt took extra effort on the part of the cabinetmaker. Note also the lighter trim piece around
the bevel above the base. Both glasses are original, with the original putty, and the tablet is well-preserved. The paper
dial is faded, yellowed, and worn, the hands are correct and as shown in the image in Ly, Ingraham Clocks & Watches, page 266. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed and running, striking on a wire gong; there is a good label inside. A great example. $100–$250.
