Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Danville”, 1886.  This uncommon model is shown in Ly’s Vol. 2 of Seth Thomas Clocks & Movements on page 725; only a single example is found on LiveAuctioneers and the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide.  The walnut case is 22.5 inches tall with a clean, varnished finish; the door glass is likely original, with a good gold stencil, the door hinges are replaced.  The metal dial holds what is likely the original paint, chipping, cracked, and soiled, with the ST logo; the hands are ST issue.  The signed 8-day, time-and-strike lyre movement runs only briefly and will need attention; it strikes on a wire gong with a painted gong mount.  The pendulum is ST issue and there are remnants of a black label on the bottom inside.  The date of manufacture is stamped on the back. AAC sold a Danville last January for $600.  $150–$300.
