92.              $100

Atkins Clock Co. “London”, 1859-1879.  A third example, also an 8-day.  The 17-inch rosewood case has a beautiful finish, marred by the repainted half-columns.  The dial glass is original with the original gilding and backing; the mirror is a modern but proper replacement.  Note the matching door handles.  The contoured dial is a mess, with repeated touch-ups and fill-ins.  Time to get that repainted professionally. The hands are acceptable.  The brass 8-day, time-and-strike movement is unsigned; it is running and striking properly on a wire gong.  An old pendulum bob, key, and a reasonable label behind plastic inside.  $100–$200.
