Terry & Andrews double steeple, 1842-1850. Simple double steeples like this are not uncommon, with 14 sales listed on LiveAuctioneers.  The 25.25-inch case is veneered in mahogany with an old finish and a few scattered chips.  The three glasses are period with well-preserved tablets, including an eagle in the middle glass.  The contoured metal dial holds old/original paint with proper period hands.  The 8-day, time-and-strike brass movement is die-stamped with the makers and Bristol, CT.  It is running irregularly, stopping after a bit, and does not care to strike on the wire gong.  It will need service.  There is a small embossed pendulum bob and good green label on the backwall.  The label advertises brass springs, but the original springs have been replaced with steel springs.  You can bid on two brass springs in Parts, #646.  AAC sold a similar example last January for $400.  $250–$400.
