Seth Thomas long-drop column & splat, ca. 1835.  As best I can tell Mr. Thomas did not make a lot of long drop wooden works clocks; there are four in the AAC database and none with two doors, as found here.  This one is 32.5 inches tall with good mahogany veneer, the original stenciled bronzed columns and splat, and two period glasses with a repainted tablet.  The putty around the glasses is newer.  The wood dial is clean with gilding and painted spandrels, the hands are period and appropriate.  The 30-hour wooden movement will run briefly, with two period weights, an old pendulum bob, and a good label on the backwall.  The tablet depicts a famous view of Yale College across the village green.  $125–$250.
