Seth Thomas “Signet V.P.”, 1880-1885.  An unusual Seth Thomas case design; this model is difficult to find.  The 23-inch walnut case has ebonized accenting and a glossy finish.  Both glasses are period/original with a repainted dial and proper hands. The Seth Thomas movement is time-only, 8-day, and running with authority.  There is a black label inside with gold lettering and losses and is too dark to read. AAC sold one in 2023 for $493.  Only one sale on LiveAuctioneers.  $250-$500.
