214.         $250

Elisha Manross gallery clock, 1843-1850.  This is a rare gallery clock from Elisha Manross in outstanding condition.  The mahogany case is 19 inches in diameter with a great finish.  There is no glass over the 14-inch convex wooden dial; I believe it is the original paint and original hands.  Note the “east-west” brass movement, time-only, with the inverted escapement and the brass spring; I cannot persuade it to run for more than a few beats, but it has been sitting for a long time.  I suspect it is an 8-day movement.  There is a very dark label inside.   AAC sold a 15-inch version in 2021 for $333; there are no sales records on LiveAuctioneers or the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide for a Manross gallery of this size other than for this exact clock in 2002 at Horton’s Antique Clocks.  $250-$400.
