213. $300
Waterbury Clock Co. “Freeport”, ca. 1905. This is the 30-day, time-only
version; it also came in a more common 8-day time-and-strike version. The 44-inch oak case has an old, slightly glossy finish. There are pressed wood ornaments at the top and bottom, and carved side arms. The door glass is old. The painted dial
is original, in good condition, and is signed at the bottom; the hands are as shown in the catalog illustration (Ly, Waterbury Clocks
& Watches, page 202). The 30-day spring-driven, double-wind movement is signed and running, regulated by a Waterbury pendulum
and bob. There is a Waterbury beat scale and a black Waterbury label inside on the bottom. Labels are also found on the
back. A rare model, with just one sale on LiveAuctioneers, in 2020 at Fontaine’s for $700. $300–$500.
