Wm. L. Gilbert Clock Co. “Regulator No. 65”, ca. 1910. The big brother to #196, at 50.5-inches tall in cherry with a beautiful old finish.  The door glass is original with much of the original putty crumbling out.  The 10-inch dial is paper with light discoloration, the hands are as shown in the catalog illustration (Ly, Gilbert Clocks, page 141).  The 8-day weight-driven, time-only movement is unsigned and running, driven by a nickel-plated weight and regulated by a proper pendulum with a brass bob.  A beat scale at the bottom.  A Gilbert label on the back.  A beautiful clock.  Two sales on LiveAuctioneers, in 2022 and 2023 for $900 and $450, respectively. $400–$800.
