E. Howard & Co. “No. 70 Regulator”, ca. 1900.  A 31-inch oak case with a clean, old finish.  Both glasses are modern, the lower glass properly painted.  The 12-inch metal dial probably holds the original paint and signature, with one filled scratch and proper hands.  The signed 8-day, time-only movement will only run for a short while no matter what I do and will need service; the iron weight is marked ‘70’ and the brass pendulum bob is faintly damascened.  There is a wooden weight shield but no tie-down and no label.  $400-$600.
