177. $125
Waterbury Clock Co. “Rapidan” calendar, ca. 1883. A beautifully
refinished 22.5-inch walnut case. The door glass has been replaced; the paper dial has the Waterbury logo and light foxing. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed and running, with a built-in calendar option. It strikes on a nickel bell. There is an upgraded pendulum bob and there are remnants of labels on the back. This is a rare model – there are no sales on
LiveAuctioneers or the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide. The basic model, without a calendar, is shown on page
414 of Ly’s Waterbury Clocks & Watches. $125–$200.
