Ansonia Clock Co. “Alaska”, ca. 1886.  A crusty 21-inch walnut case, never renewed, with an old replacement glass and silver trim strips applied to the inside.  The paper dial is darkly toned, the hands as shown in the catalog illustration (Ly, Ansonia Clocks, page 456).  The 8-day time and half-hour strike movement is signed and running, striking on a wire gong.  The alarm is not hooked up, it strikes on the small bell in the gong. There is a beat scale and a fancy dial-indicator pendulum.  Remnants of a label on the back.  $25–$50.
