Waterbury Clock Co. shelf clock, ca. 1870.  This model is not shown in Ly’s two books on Waterbury clocks, but it bears a Waterbury label inside, and the movement is marked “Waterbury Clock Co.”  The style is also a Waterbury style, with a 20.25-inch case veneered in walnut with a clean, old finish.  Both glasses are likely original with a decalcomania tablet in reasonable condition.  The metal dial holds old paint and the hands are appropriate. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is running and striking on a wire gong.  The label is tattered but shows the maker. $50–$150.
