134.           $50

E.N. Welch Mfg. Co. “Unknown No. 35”, ca. 1875.  This clock is shown in Ly’s Welch Clocks, Second Edition on page 493 as an unknown model.  My consignor has suggested it may be a George Jones clock, based on the dial mount.  The polished walnut case is 23 inches tall with the center finial; the door glass is original, the paper dial unsigned and darkly toned.  The hands are appropriate.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed EN Welch, Forestville Conn and is running and striking on a brass bell; it is regulated by a single barrel pendulum.  There is no label.  $50–$150.
