129. $75
Welch, Spring & Co. “Italian No. 1”, ca. 1878. A 17.5-inch
rosewood and mahogany case with a clean polished finish, and just a few veneer chips along the base. There are some veneer repairs
to the base in front. Both glasses look to be original, the tablet may have been rebacked. The dial is new paper, the
hands replacements. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed EN Welch and is running and striking on a wire gong. There is a toned label inside. A nice example. $75–$150.
