Seth Thomas “Arch Top”, 1884.   A 15.5-inch-tall case with walnut veneer, including burled walnut on the base, no chips missing pieces or repairs, and a patinaed finish. The door glass is period/original.  The glossy paper dial is laid over a contoured metal dial; the hands are Seth Thomas.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed and running, striking on a wire gong; there is an alarm hooked up (untested) that strikes on a small iron bell.  There is a good label inside, hidden behind the alarm and bell.   The AAC average sale price (3 sales) is $232.  $150–$250.
