Terry & Andrews 8-day steeple, 1842-1850. Terry
& Andrews (Theodore & Franklin) were prolific producers of brass movement shelf clocks in Bristol CT, second only to Chauncey
Jerome. This steeple is a typical example, 20 inches tall with flame mahogany veneer and two period glasses, the milk-glass
tablet with significant losses. The right cone finial has lost its tip. The contoured metal dial has been repainted,
with proper period hands. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed and running, striking on a wire gong, with an uncommon
pendulum bob. The green label is too dark and stained to read. $75–$150.
