E.O. Goodwin cottage clock, 1852-1855. Edwin was a clock peddler, including for Forestville Mfg Co., and he married J.C. Brown’s sister after her husband, Chauncey Pomeroy, died.  His miniature triple deckers are his most popular model; here we have a 14.5-inch case with rosewood veneer, although I think the veneer may be missing off the bottom half; it has been stained and varnished.  The glasses are period and likely original, with a well-retained transfer on the lower door and an intact dial surround.  The contoured metal dial retains the original paint, with wear and soiling, and period and proper hands.  The ribbed 8-day time-and-strike movement was made by Brewster & Ingrahams and is so signed.  It is dirty and not keen on running, but it will strike on the wire gong.  There is a very dark label inside.  $100–$200.
