Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Column”, ca. 1870.  This miniature empire clock is 16 inches tall with good rosewood veneer all around and a clean finish.  The dial glass, porthole glass, and mirror are modern.  The flat dial is an aluminum replacement, the hands are “ST” hands. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is spring-driven, signed Plymouth Conn; it is running and striking on a wire.  There is a severely toned Thomaston label inside.  A classic model that looks great and fits almost anywhere.  $100–$200.
