Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Steeple Weight”, ca. 1858.  Seth Thomas wasn’t really into steeples, preferring OGs; this is his first entry, and it’s more an OG with a peak than a steeple.  The case is 29 inches tall with figured mahogany veneer on the front, standard mahogany on the sides, correct finials, and a painted gesso eagle in the repainted pediment.  Both glasses are likely original, with a good transfer of P.T. Barnum’s mansion in Bridgeport CT, Iranistan; built in 1848, it burned down in 1857.  The wooden dial is in good condition with modest soiling, the hands period and correct.  The 30-hour time-and-strike, weight-driven movement is signed with the Plymouth Hollow location; it is running and striking on a wire gong, driven by two period 30-hour weights.  The Plymouth Hollow label is dark and water-stained, with some losses.  AAC sold a similar example in 2023 for $275.  $200–$400.
