Forestville Mfg. Co. midsize triple decker, ca. 1845. This is not a full-size triple decker, at only 28 inches tall, and contains a one-day weight-driven brass movement.  FMC made a few of these, but I have not seen one in this “sleigh-front” style before.  The 28-inch case has good mahogany veneer and a clean and glossy finish.  The dial glass is old, the middle glass modern with a nicely repainted and stylistically correct tablet, and the lower glass is period/original with an interesting landscape tablet, with noticeable losses.  The contoured metal dial has yellowed and been touched up, but the Forestville signature is present.  The hour hand is period and appropriate, the minute hand likely a replacement.  The 30-hour time-and-strike brass movement is die-stamped Forestville and is running and striking as expected, driven by two period cast iron weights.  The label has been lost and the pendulum bob is modern.  As noted, this is an uncommon model and would look good alongside a full-sized brother/sister (and, if you have one, a 21-inch miniature). $150–$300.
