Sons pillar & scroll, 1823-1831. A second example by this prolific firm. The veneer is clean, the finish
polished. The scroll top appears to be a replacement; the solid brass urn finials are on brass posts. The skirt and feet
appear to be original. The dial glass is original, with the original putty, the lower glass is modern with a great tablet. The wooden dial is clean and colorful, with some degradation to the center area; note the gilded decoration inside the chapter ring. The hands are period. The wooden 30-hour time-and-strike movement is running and striking on the iron bell without problem. There are two period weights, an old pendulum bob, and a good label. $250–$400.
