E. Terry & Sons pillar & scroll, 1823-1831.   I see more P&S clocks from Terry & Sons than any other clockmaking firm.  They were prolific and in business at the height of the fashion for this style clock.  The case is 31 inches tall with modern brass urn finials on metal posts.  The finish is clean, with a veneer repairs to the crossbar on the door; I see no repairs to the scroll top but there is a repair to the right front corner and foot.  Both glasses are period but the dial glass may be a replacement, as the putty is not original.  The tablet and glass are likely original, with significant losses.  The plain dial has yellowed, with wear to the gilding; note the gilded wreath around the mainstem.  The hands are period but the minute hand seems a bit short.  The 30-hour time-and-strike wooden movement is running and striking without issue, with two period cast iron weights, period pendulum bob, and modern tin dust covers over the pulleys on the top. There is a nearly complete but stained label inside.  The average AAC price for a Terry & Sons P&S clock is $336 (14 sales).  $250–$400.

BID INCREMENTS

I use the following bid increments to assign the final sale price.  If your winning bid is less than one increment over the second highest bid, you are assessed your full bid amount.

   BID                     INCREMENT

$1-$249                       $0            The bid you place is the price you pay –                                                       no increments applied
$250-$499                   $25
$500-$999                   $50
$1000-$2499               $100
$2500-$4999               $250
$5000-$9999               $500
$10,000 >                    $1000

If you are the only bidder and you bid less than $250, you will pay your full bid amount if you are the winning bidder; if you bid more than $250, you will get the item for $250 or the minimum bid price, whichever is higher.
