MO-15. $50
Unknown maker 30-hour shelf clock, ca. 1830. Too much of the label is gone here for me to determine a maker, perhaps you can? If so, let me know! The case is 35 inches tall over a very dark mahogany veneer finish. The half-columns and splat look original to me, with unusual stenciling. All three glasses are original, with some reglazing and rebacking of the small but original tablet in the bottom glass. The wooden dial is reasonably clean but faded; the hands are appropriate. The 30-hour time-and-strike wooden groaner movement was untested as the weight cables are missing (and there is no bob); this clock does not come with weights, but groaner weights can be purchased in Parts (#605). This clock falls in that gray area of “part it out/save it”. You decide. $50-$150.
Diane Burghardt thinks this may be an Olcott Cheney or B&H Twiss clock, based the remains of the label.
