TR-19. $50
Chauncey Jerome brass dial 30-hour OG, 1840-1845. Chauncey Jerome and his brother Noble invented the thirty-hour weight-driven, rolled-brass movement in the late 1830’s and put them
in OG cases by the boatload (literally; many were shipped to England). This clock was made in the late 1840’s before he moved
to New Haven after his Bristol factory burnt down. The 26-inch case is veneered in flame mahogany and is still near perfect. Both glasses are original, with losses to the backing of the dial glass surround, something that would be easy to restore. The
large lower tablet has only minimal losses. The brass dial has embossed and painted numerals but considerable wear; the hands
are period. The 30-hour movement is unsigned and untested, and there are no weights (weights can be purchased in Parts, #601). There is no pendulum bob or crank and one pulley dust cover is missing. The label is readable and there is the original wire
gong. This clock is just waiting for you to clean it up and restore it. $50-$150.
