MA-13. $75
Waterbury Clock Co. “Column”, ca. 1875. This clock (dial
and glass) is shown in a catalog illustration on page 392 of Ly’s book (Vol. 1) on Waterbury clocks. The rosewood case is 24.5
inches tall with the original faux wood columns and original gilt caps. Both glasses are old, the tablet retouched in the bird
and flowers, and rebacked. The original dial retains good color but has some losses; the hands are period with a repair to the
minute hand. The 30-hour time-and-strike movement is signed and running, driven by two 30-hour weights and a modern pendulum
bob. A decent label inside with wear. One wooden dust cover for a weight pulley remains. The veneer on the right
side of the base is badly faded. $100-$200.
