249. $100
Two-weight Vienna, ca. 1900. A small (35-inch) Vienna
regulator in a walnut veneer case with a clean old finish and a nicely carved base. The door glass is modern, the finials may
not all be original. The porcelain dial is unsigned, the hands appropriate; the 8-day, time and half-hour strike movement is
also unsigned and unmarked. It is running and striking on a wire gong, driven by two brass weights, inscribed pulleys, and the
likely original pendulum stick and hollow bob. This little guy is easy to like. $100–$250.
