221.            $125

Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Empire No. 65” crystal regulator, ca. 1909.  An 11-inch-tall case, 9.25 inches wide, in brass with a gold finish.  There is some wear and tarnish.  There are four fluted side columns and four beveled glasses, the front glass bowed.  The dial is cream porcelain, signed and decorated, with proper hands.  The movement is a time and half-hour strike described in the catalog as a “High grade movement, steel cut pinions and spring in barrels”; it strikes on a cathedral gong.  ST put both 15-day and 8-day movements in this model, and I did not determine which was used here.  AAC sold a lesser example in 2022 for $125.  $125-$200.
