Lee Victory No. 1 Regulator Banjo REPRODUCTION, ca. 1976? The solid cherry case is 50 inches long with a modern dial glass and two apparently period lower glasses and tablets.  The dial is an E. Howard dial, repainted and labeled by The Dial House; there is a large scratch on the lower left.  The hands are proper Howard hands.  The 8-day, time-only movement was made by Howard and is so marked; it will run for a while but always stops. The pendulum is apparently Howard issue, but the large brass bob is badly beat up and I’m not sure it is Howard issue.  There is a proper cast iron No. 1 weight, and a pendulum tie down.  There is a metal plaque inside the case at the lower left that states “Lee Victory Serial # 176”.  A cleaning might be all this movement needs to get it up and running.  AAC sold a Ralph Holman No. 1 Banjo reproduction last summer for $1000.  $750–$1000.
