F. Kroeber “Corinth”, ca. 1884.  An 18-inch mahogany case with an old finish and ample patina; there are three beveled glasses, indicating that this was a high-end parlor clock. The black paper dial looks original, with considerable wear; the hands are period.  The 8-day time and half-hour strike movement is signed F Kroeber New York; it is running strongly and striking on a cathedral gong, regulated by a special “ship’s wheel” pendulum bob that has lost several of its handles.  There is a nearly complete label on the back.  Not a perfect example, but there are no sales on LiveAuctioneers in the last decade.  $200–$400.
