Brewster & Ingrahams round gothic (beehive), 1843-1852.  A second example of this classic form from the players who invented this case style.  The 19-inch case is veneered in rosewood with a clean finish, and just a couple of chips/repairs.  Both glasses are original with the original putty.  The contoured round dial holds old paint, yellowed, with the makers’ signature and proper period hands.  The 8-day, time-and-strike ribbed brass movement is signed and has two large brass springs; it will run for a few minutes and tries to strike, but a lever is either out of place or out of adjustment – and my union card says I can’t work on that.  There is a darkened but readable label inside.  All-original classic beauty.  $50–$100.
