73. $150
Chauncey Jerome papier mâché MOP round-top,
1845-1850. The wooden case is 14.5 inches tall with gilding, polychrome flowers and MOP on the front. The sturdy
brass bezel opens with a push-button on the left; the glass is modern and the zinc dial has been repainted. The hands are probably
replacements. The 8-day time-and-strike brass movement is unsigned and there is no label inside or on the back, so we are assuming
it was made by Jerome & Co. It is running and striking on a wire gong without problem. $150–$250.
